Builder · Systems thinker · Polymath

I build restaurants by day and systems for living the rest of the time.

Founder and operator of a general contracting company in Southern California. Husband, father of two. I treat business, body, mind, and faith as one integrated project — documented, measured, and tended like a garden.

About

I run the building side of a fast-food franchise group: ground-up restaurants, tenant improvements, the permitting, the subs, the schedule. Most days I wear three hats — founder, project manager, superintendent — and I’m actively working to delegate two of them.

Outside of work I’m what people politely call unfocused and what I call a polymath. Comics and cinematography, architecture and SolarPunk, coding and self-hosting, fitness science, Taoism, conlangs. The interests aren’t scattered; they cluster, and the clusters connect. This site is where I make those connections visible.

Self · The person

What I am made of: the body I live in, the mind I think with, the soul that gives it meaning.

Body · PhysicalMind · Education and mental claritySoul · Spiritual and emotional

Others · The community

The people I belong to: my wife, my children and parents, and the friends and community around us.

Romance · Marriage and partnershipFamily · Children, parents and extended familyFriends · Friendships and community

World · Institutions, ideas and infrastructure

How I meet the world: the money that secures us, the mission I build, and the lifestyle and spaces we live in.

Money · Personal financesMission · Business, career and purposeLifestyle · Spaces, travel and how we live

Three larger areas, nine sub-areas. Every 12-week cycle, three or four get focus; the rest hold the line at maintenance.

Seven clusters. The deepest insights show up where they intersect — SolarPunk + architecture + smart home; Tao + fitness + code; comics + cinematography + screenwriting.

Cross-cluster bridges

Coding + 3D printing + DIY → digital designs that become physical objects. Etymology + languages + music theory → patterns in how humans encode meaning.

Operating principles

Pulled straight out of my Master Life Playbook. These are the rules I actually run on, not the ones I wish I did.

Systematize everything worth repeating

I run a contracting company on a written operations playbook. I run my life the same way: a Master Life Playbook, a 12 Week Year rhythm, and a personal OS. If it matters, it gets a system.

Declare your tier, then execute

Every behavior has an A (optimal), B (sustainable), and C (maintenance) version. You pick the realistic one each week and score against it. Perfect Level C beats sloppy Level A. All-or-nothing is the failure mode; tiers are the fix.

Wu wei at the job site

Islam gives me discipline and direction; Taoism gives me flow. Effortless action shows up in biomechanics, in design economy, and in clean code. The same principle, three domains.

Tend the garden, don’t build the cathedral

Ideas are seeds → seedlings → evergreen notes. Thirty minutes a week of linking beats a someday reorganization. Connections across domains are where the real insight lives.

Protect the reclaimed evening

9:00–10:30pm is 500+ hours a year. It used to be YouTube shorts. Now it rotates through body, mind, craft, spirit, and people. Phone on silent.

Build now, while it’s cheap

I’m 29, married, two small kids, no health issues. The habits I set in this decade compound across the next four. Strength, savings, faith, friendships — the same math.

The system

Three layers, one surface. Operations (12 Week Year, A/B/C tiers, weekly reviews), Knowledge (a digital garden), and Identity (the interest map above). The garden inspires the goals; executing the goals enriches the garden.

12 Week Year

Annual planning compressed into 12-week sprints. Sunday scoring, weekly execution plans, a real review every quarter. Short enough for urgency, long enough for results.

A / B / C tiers

A = optimal (10 ceiling). B = sustainable (8.5). C = maintenance (7). Score = execution % × ceiling. Three C weeks in a row triggers a mandatory review.

Reclaimed evening

Mon body · Tue mind · Wed craft · Thu spirit · Fri people · weekend flexible. 90 minutes at Tier A; at Tier C the only rule is no shorts.

SeedsVoice memos from the commute, links, quotes, job-site observations. Zero friction, tagged #inbox.
SeedlingsProcessed weekly: rewritten in my own words, 2–3 links to related notes and hubs.
EvergreenStands alone, dense with connections, worth sharing. The kind of note this site will eventually publish.

Lifetime purposes

Long-horizon identities I’m working toward, each tied to one of the eight areas.
